Re-CLAIM Space

There are various ways we can re-claim space from SQL Instance.

- Index Rebuild followed by SHRINKFILE.

- Auto Archive/Purge old data via SQL Agent.

- Backup Log followed by SHRINKFILE, it's also informed that truncate_only has been deprecated in recent versions.

- Maintenance cleanup (Backup and log files)

Additionally,

Windows 'Disk cleanup' utility to reclaim space from other areas.
