Backup Retention Policy

Well, backup retention policy depends upon business to business.

However, one can easily opt for below standard policy...

- Full Backup, It should be atleast 8 days.
- Differential Backup, it should be 7 days.
- Log Backup, it should be 24 hours.

For Compression and other options are set as per requirement.

With Urgent / Quick Analysis when issue occurs...

- Blocking/Sysprocesses
- Error Logs
- Long running Job
- All SQL Services Status
- Consistency / Check DB
- Windows Event Log
